Unfortunately many people limit themselves, when it comes to their fitness options; they think fitness and automatically think of workouts at the gym and cardio sessions like walking and jogging. There are plenty of other activities that you can do where you can have fun and at the same time, get a great workout.
One option is to get involved in an active sport like swimming, tennis, football, or basketball. You can have fun, get plenty of activity and training with your team-mates or squad can increase your motivation for your workouts when you are at the gym.
If you are not interested in trying a sport or can’t think of a sport that you would enjoy, you could try dancing or a martial arts class as as a great workout option. There are a great variety of dance and martial arts styles that you could try, so you should be able to find one that suits you. Look around and when you find a class that you think you like, go for it. I have personally done and recommend both although I have been involved in the martial arts for much longer.
The important thing is to find something that interests you, don’t limit yourself and have fun.

It is very important to look after yourself if you are going to be training hard in the summer heat. It is vitally important that you keep well hydrated: not only with this help you maintain and improve your performance, it can help prevent potential heat related problems including Heat Stress and Heat Stroke. It is thought that if you are feeling thirsty, you are already slightly dehydrated, so keep hydrated, keep cool and keep healthy.

If you want a fun but not necessarily easy way to increase your aerobic conditioning and develop power in your legs, try hill sprints. All you need is a hill with the you can run up for 30 or more metres. I like the interval training approach that you can take on hills. Run up and walk down and repeat. If you you are just starting out doing hill sprints, take it easy and steadily build up your pace and number of repetitions.

Tip #2
The Sunday Ritual
by Dr. John Berardi To ensure that good foods will be available when you need them, use the Sunday Ritual. This is performed by setting aside three hours every Sunday to write out your menu for the week, shop for the week, and prepare your meals for the week. Cook all the meat, chop all the vegetables, measure out all the yogurt and/or cottage cheese, and distribute all the powders. Have them ready and set aside so that you can grab them in the morning and bring them with you regardless of what your day holds in store for you.
