This quote from Plato is as relevant today as it was nearly 2500 years ago. The frustrating thing is we (people as a whole) still haven’t put it into practise.

Do you train for a purpose or do you train to train? There is nothing wrong with training to train but most people will accomplish more if they are training with a purpose in mind. Whether it is to improve your health, build size or strength, drop some bodyfat or improve athletic performance, having a focus or purpose is a valuable mental tool.

The other day I mentioned Mike Boyle’s strength definition. One of the exercises in the definition, the hang clean is not seen in many gyms, so here is a video of it that I found on YouTube. The second exercise that is demonstrated is the clean and jerk.
