Protein And Health
For many years, people have been told that too much protein is bad for you, even of you are training hard. The International Society of Sports Nutrition has released their position statement on protein and exercise which includes the following points:
- protein intake of up to 2g/kg/day is not harmful and may improve response to exercise
- protein intake of this level as part of a balanced diet is not detrimental to kidney function
- if you are training regularly you require more protein than sedentary people.
This just backs up what many coaches and personal trainers have been saying for years.
