Steady State Vs Interval Training
I am currently completing a course in cardiovascular fitness assessment and program design. It’s interesting because it’s focus is on steady state cardio training, whereas most of the trainers that I most respect primarily focus on interval training. Is interval training better than steady state cardio? In many respects yes, but if you are training for a long distance run, triathlon or other long distance event, you need to incorporate some steady state cardio for your chosen discipline. Most sedentary people will find that steady state cardio is a gentle way to ease their way into training.
